During 2012, BVA plans to complete the
landscaping along the north side of Palm Canyon Drive, as
described in the
Palm Canyon Vitalization Plan
and we ask for your financial support to help us complete
this work.
In April, 2011, BVA installed four linear “Pocket Parks”
along the south side of Palm Canyon Drive. Thanks to the
support of our community members and that of San Diego Gas &
Electric, we:

Raised more than $40,000 in
donations;

Created 34,000 square feet of
landscaping;

Removed 12,000 square feet of
asphalt;
-
Planted and installed irrigation
for 50 native species trees, 12 Ocotillos and numerous
indigenous shrubs, all low water use plants;

Installed 6 concrete memorial
benches, contributed by 6 donors and installed pro bono
by Anson Construction;

Involved 12 Urban Corps volunteers,
15 SDG&E certified arborists/area forester staff, and 12
local volunteers.
Our goal this year is to complete landscaping on the
North side of Palm Canyon Drive. We have received a
generous pledge of 40 indigenous Fan Palms from Bill Wright,
and we are working to complete participation agreements with
major property owners. SDG&E has again volunteered
additional labor for installation. Our goal is to raise
another $40,000 so please consider making a donation for
installation, shrubs, irrigation, additional benches and
maintenance, so we can complete and maintain this important
work.

Village Association" and mail to PO Box 1133, Borrego
Springs, CA 92004, and note "BVA Landscape". Please note
that the Borrego Village Association is incorporated as a
not-for-profit 501c6 organization, which means donations
made to the BVA are not considered "charitable," and are not
tax-deductible except as a business expense.
