Originally formed
in 2005 as the “Borrego Business Think Tank”, an
outgrowth
of the Borrego Springs Chamber of Commerce, the Borrego
Village Association has evolved into a significant
contributor to planning and implementing positive changes in
Borrego’s central business district and beyond in the
Borrego community. With the help and guidance of a strong
and diverse group of civic leaders on its Board, it has
formed a vision and begun implementing a number of promising
projects. During 2012, the BVA plans to remain active with a
series of projects and activities based on its “2012 Areas
for Focus”.
BVA adopted the
following Mission Statement in June, 2007:
“To create
and sustain an attractive community, uniquely located within
the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, where residents enjoy a
quality lifestyle, prosperous businesses meet community
needs, and visitors return often.”
In September 2009
this mission was augmented as follows:
"Increase
the BVA's presence, authority and leadership in the
community via strategic alliances with local government,
businesses and the community."
